A car accident happened in the Rivelstraat in Wijk en Aalburg around five o’clock this afternoon. Two men were seriously injured. As far as is known, no other traffic was involved in the accident. The car the men were in went off the road and crashed into a tree.
Both victims had to be resuscitated. Considering the seriousness of the accident, a trauma doctor was also called. One of the victims was taken to a hospital in Rotterdam by trauma helicopter.
The second injured person was taken to the hospital in Tilburg by ambulance. The condition of the injured is unknown.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the police. The road will be closed for some time.
