Several people were injured in an accident on the A28 near De Wijk shortly before midnight, one of whom was seriously injured. It is not known exactly what happened.
Two cars were involved in the accident, one of which ended up in the water.
The A28 is closed to traffic in a northerly direction between Wijk and Zuidwolde. The police are investigating.
