At least one person was injured in a fire in the roof of two houses on Stijn Streuvelslaan in Bladel on Saturday afternoon. The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance. Just after four o’clock the fire brigade announced that the fire was under control.
The fire broke out around half past two in the roof of one of the houses. Shortly afterwards the fire spread to the house next door. A lot of smoke was immediately released. The fire brigade called on people in the area to stay away from the smoke and to close windows and doors. Residents of houses directly next to the source of the fire left as a precaution, a spokesperson for the Safety Region said
Three fire engines were soon present to prevent the fire from spreading further to other houses in the street. A fourth vehicle also arrived for the supply of fire-fighting water.
The fire was under control just after four o’clock. However, the fire is still being extinguished. According to the fire brigade, two houses suffered fire damage, a third only suffered smoke damage. It remains unclear exactly how the fire started.
