The provisional cancellation of the beach pavilion on the Blaricum beach near the Voorlandse Stichtse Brug was a bitter pill for initiator Jan Geesink. The license granted has been provisionally suspended due to the judge’s ruling. He let us know in the radio program NH Throw Saturday†
The beach pavilion will be located in an area of protected nature, so that nature must be compensated elsewhere. The Friends of the Gooi foundation lodged an objection and took the matter to court. The judge ultimately ruled that the procedure followed by the province and the municipality was not correct. For example, agreements between the two parties about compensation for nature have not been officially recorded, so that the objections about nature have not been dealt with.
Geesink was also present in the multiple courtroom when the judge pronounced his decision. He called the atmosphere in the courtroom ‘fine.’ The initiator himself also took the floor.
Eight years
No less than eight years ago, Geesink started the initiative of a beach pavilion. This was at the invitation of the municipality, after which he drew up a plan based on the so-called Structural Vision. There was no Environmental Plan, but this was solved with a special procedure because of the haste. “That went on for a long time in a positive atmosphere”, Geesink looks back. “But retroactively that wasn’t the right choice. It’s a sad story.”
Geesink will have another appointment with the municipality in the near future. The Friends of the Gooi should also be able to join in, if it’s up to Geesink. “Let’s put everything on the table honestly and openly. Blaricum needs to give it a positive interpretation.”
