Marcus Ingvartsen is leaving the Bundesliga soccer club FSV Mainz 05 and moving to his home country to join the Danish runners-up FC Nordsjælland.
The 27-year-old striker came from 1. FC Union Berlin in 2021 and played a total of 58 competitive games for Rheinhessen, in which he scored 19 goals.
“At his home and training club, Marcus has the opportunity to play an important role as an absolute leader and thus also to play the focus for the Danish EM squad in 2024. That’s why he approached us with the desire to support him for this change release,” said Mainz sports director Martin Schmidt.
