Influencers Rachel and Willem put holiday paradise up for sale after a year

Rachel and Willem van Sas from Den Bosch are once again selling their recently purchased holiday park in the Frisian town of Twijslerheide. A year and a half ago they bought it together with friend Martijn Manschot, with the aim of turning it into a true paradise. But that did not go as expected for the influencers. Due to Martijn’s burnout, the trio put Het Wylde Pad up for sale again.

The couple bought the holiday park, Het Wylde Pad, together with Martijn last April. All three of them had no idea about it, but they were eager to make something beautiful out of it. It even resulted in a new reality series, in which the renovation of the park was followed.

Unfortunately, their ‘passion project’ did not go as planned. At the beginning of this year, Martijn found himself at home with a severe burnout. “Unfortunately, his situation has not yet improved and for that reason he had to decide to permanently stop using Het Wylde Pad,” the couple explains on Instagram.

Against the Leeuwarder Courant Willem says that at first there was good hope that Martijn would recover after a few months of rest, but that he eventually slipped enormously. Health comes first and so it was time to stop.

“If it doesn’t go the way it should, then it has to be the way it goes.”

The loss of Martijn has major consequences for Rachel and Willem. “Martijn is half of the company and we cannot be present full-time due to our other activities.” Rachel is an interior influencer with her lifestyle platform ‘De Huismuts’ and Willem is a content creator under the name Daddyhox. Martijn is one of the men behind the popular YouTube account Stingy Guests.

This summer, the entrepreneurs had launched a crowdfunding campaign to complete their park. According to the Leeuwarder Courant, they found two hundred investors willing to put money into the park and raised 300,000 euros. All that money will be refunded. “All crowdfunders received an email two weeks ago and will of course receive their investment back”, Rachel and Willem write.

So the baton is passed on. The holiday park has been put up for sale for 2,250,000 euros on Funda in Business. “If it doesn’t go the way it should, then it has to be the way it goes.”

In April last year, Omroep Brabant visited the holiday paradise:
