The team of coach Najib Taki came in 1-0 with a goal from Jesse Koeman. The opening goal was defused by the equalizer of Adil Zouthane. Thanks to Jeffrey de Moel’s 2-1, Veerhuys still went into the break with a lead.

Unexpectedly exciting

After tea, HV Veerhuys showed his best game and the team took a comfortable 4-1 lead thanks to goals from Thijs Nugter and David Albert. HV Veerhuys seemed to be heading for an even more generous victory, but two quick hits by De Hommel threw a spanner in the works: 4-3. This made it unexpectedly exciting in the final phase. Goalkeeper Marcel Ons, however, was able to distinguish himself with a few important saves and so the three points remained in Hoorn.
