INDEX-FLASH: Dax and EuroStoxx curb profits in the wake of the US stock exchanges

FRANKFURT/PARIS (dpa-AFX) – The Dax (DAX 40) and the EuroStoxx 50 (EURO STOXX 50) were once again slowed down by the headwind on the US stock exchanges on Friday afternoon. The leading German index curbed its gains and recently maintained an increase of 0.62 percent to 14,066.46 points. It should at least remain above the well-noticed, round mark of 14,000 points, which, according to strategist Jürgen Molnar from the trading house Robomarkets, “would at least be a small glimmer of hope for the technically ailing market”. Its eurozone counterpart was recently up around half a percent.

In the USA, disappointing quarterly reports, especially from the tech heavyweight Amazon, dampened the mood, which naturally put the technology-heavy NASDAQ 100 under pressure with a minus of over two percent. But the leading index Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) also had to give up feathers with a price drop of 1.3 percent./gl/he
