Photos taken from the filming of the film show how drastically Strang has undergone a physical transformation for the role. The role required more patience from him than usual, as he had to sit for hours on the mask bench.
Hair had to be sewn onto Strang’s head, and to suit the spirit of the times, the appearance had to be made dirty and jagged.
– Masking made the working days quite long. And when we move in such a time that cleanliness is not the thing, it took a long time to remove the mask, Strang states.

The role of King Anlaf differs significantly from Strang’s previous roles.
– Portraying an ancient warrior was not at all familiar to me. Maybe I even alienated it a bit, so the role was therefore particularly interesting, says Strang.
