Another record day for the capital: The incidence climbed to 1795.5 – there were 17,416 new corona infections. Even that is only half the truth. “We know that 29,000 cases have not yet been entered into the system,” said Health Senator Ulrike Gote (56, Greens).
The Green politician assumes that the students reflect a realistic picture of the infected situation in the general population. The incidence is 4538 among 5 to 9 year olds and 4731 among 10 to 14 year olds!
Every fifth infected person comes from these two age groups alone.
In order to create an outlet for parents’ concerns, compulsory attendance in schools was lifted by the end of February. The consequence? In Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, e.g. B. per school 3 to 17 students at home.
It is unclear how the contact tracing of corona infections in schools will continue. Gote defended that people sitting next to infected people should no longer be automatically quarantined for five days.
On the other hand, SPD parliamentary group manager Torsten Schneider (53) said in the health committee: “There are technical concerns in the SPD parliamentary group.”

1.5 million masks are currently being distributed to those in need in the districts. The fact that they are not FFP2 masks and the shelf life expires in May causes irritation. However, the social administration assures that they correspond to a comparable standard of protection.
