TOP Oss has filed a report because of an ‘incendiary image’ that someone posted on social media. According to the football club, it is a picture of trainer Klaas Wels, in which the persecution of the Jews in World War II is downplayed. TOP calls the image offensive and threatening and therefore went to the police.
“Football is emotion and emotions can sometimes run high,” the club writes in a statement. “We really appreciate that TOP Oss supporters feel closely involved with the club. Even if they disagree with certain decisions made by the club management.”
“Unfortunately, a few go so far in this that the boundaries are far exceeded.”
Seventeenth place
With this, the club refers to the edited image of trainer Klaas Wels, which someone has put online. It is not known what exactly can be seen in the photo in question. Wels was until recently technical director and now the head coach. TOP Oss is seventeenth in the Kitchen Champion Division.
