F.icarra and Picone they also launch into the world of seriality. After the blockbusters like Summer time And The first Christmas comes up Netflix (available from January 1st) Stuck.
Here the comic duo, together for almost 30 years, mix their own for the first time comedy, which we have all come to know, to the crime genre, and for the first time he has to deal with a murdered dead. Here’s what it’s about Stuck.
The plot of Stuck
Except And Valentino they are two friends who work together as appliance repairers in today’s Palermo. Except is married to Ester (Anna Favella), sister of his friend, while Valentino he still lives with his mother who only thinks of feeding him as a classic Southern woman. The heart of the son actually beats for the historic flame Agate (Marianna di Martino), who returns to the city as a policeman.
One day the two have to fix a certain man’s television Alberto Gambino. When they get to the apartment floor they find the door open, entering and they find one pistol on the ground and the body of the lifeless man lying on the bathtub. What’s happened? But above all, what to do after Valentino accidentally fired a pistol?
Except has the solution in his pocket as a die-hard fan of the series The Touch of the Killer. Details are key on a scene from the crime, he learned episode after episode. Too bad that reality is different from fiction: Salvo and Valentino in fact find themselves embroiled in a matter bigger than them, which involves none other than the mafia and the legendary boss Most Holy Father. The two try to untangle the hank, but between one gag and the other, one misunderstanding after another, remain stuck in a dangerous game.
Ficarra and Picone between murders and comedy
Ficarra and Picone they rely on crime for the desire to experience a different genre, who knows that one day they will show up at the cinema or on TV with a western or a sci-fi. Everything is possible. Meanwhile, they use this genre to enhance theirs comedy, as they say: it doesn’t take much to have fun on a crime scene or laugh about it as you prepare to hide the traces of a murder.
We also think about Aldo Giovanni and Giacomo who played with the crime in Al, John and Jack. in Stuck there is also the argument mafia, inevitable in the Sicily of the comic duo.
The mafia in Stuck
The mafia is ridiculed and represented through the character of Tonino Macaluso, called “Cosa Usile” (the name is already a program), interpreted by Tony Sperandeo (“Our Robert De NiroThey define it Ficarra and Picone). Tonino has always aspired to become a boss, but some vicissitudes and personal facts have submerged him in a kind of limbo. The boss he must obey is the legendary Most Holy Father.
Also in Summer time the two authors had addressed the theme of organized crime. In the series the point of view is different, although always observing the phenomenon from below.
If in the movie Ficarra and Picone they lingered on faults and the responsibility also of citizens, here the gaze is on two characters locked up in their story, almost indifferent to what is happening to them. However, the directors’ goal remains the same: to make people laugh, not to console, and to keep alive the attention of young people above all on such a delicate and lively theme.
