They were forced to stop using gas, but would not have to pay extra for this. That was the promise to the residents of the first gas-free neighborhood in Rotterdam. But to their surprise, almost all of them received a hefty additional tax for their heating costs in December. Now they are angry and worried. “I really don’t know how I’m going to pay for that.”
