In the Netherlands now 15 established wolves with territory, another 11 stray wolves and possibly also cubs on the way | Abroad

In the period between mid-February and the end of April, two wolves were killed and one wolf may have been killed by a human. Between mid-February and May, a wolf attacked and mostly killed 54 farm animals.

The wolf has now been seen throughout the Netherlands, except in South Holland. In Amersfoort, Heumen, Nunspeet and Velp an animal walked through the built-up areas. These animals behaved calmly and were not aggressive, according to BIJ12.

The wolf pair on the Noord-Veluwe, which was the first to settle in the Netherlands, has since had cubs several times. There is now a large herd in the area. Some cubs have found a partner and live in their own territory elsewhere in the Veluwe.

Almost all wolves in the Netherlands come from Germany and Eastern Europe. Only in North Brabant there has been a wolf for a while that comes from Central Europe. That wolf seemed to have left at the beginning of this year, but has now reappeared in the Dutch province of Limburg.
