A thaw is expected in Moscow and St. Petersburg, which will last until the end of the week, said TASS scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
According to forecasts of the weatherman, it will snow all day in Moscow, including wet. “But the biggest problem is ice. It will be very dangerous and slippery also during the whole week. There is no need to rush,” Vilfand warned.
The Hydrometeorological Center warned of “dangerous weather” in several regions
In St. Petersburg during the week the air temperature will be 6-10 degrees above the norm. Possible precipitation in the form of sleet, the forecaster said.
At the same time, a cold snap is expected in the South of Western and Central Siberia by the end of the working week. “The temperature will drop to 25-35 degrees below zero, which is 4-6 degrees below normal,” the Hydrometeorological Center said. This phenomenon is associated with the development of the Siberian anticyclone, which determines the cold weather in this area in winter. Siberian frosts are expected in Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Khakassia, Irkutsk.
