The clothing retailer C&A will no longer offer any third-party brands in its branches. As part of its “strategic repositioning”, the retail chain decided to take the products of previous partner brands out of its range “in the course of the next financial year”, confirmed a company spokeswoman at FashionUnited’s request. The trade magazine Textilwirtschaft (TW) had previously reported on the measure.
The fundamental realignment had already become apparent on Tuesday: C&A and the denim supplier Mustang announced that they would end their long-term partnership. The two companies announced that all 503 Mustang branded spaces would now be gradually removed from the C&A branches.
It is now clear that it will also affect the other third-party brands that were previously offered by C&A. The company announced that items from labels such as Sloggi, Butlers, Wrangler, Fair Squared and “various shoe brands by Hamm Reno” would be removed from the range. “We want to modernize and strengthen the C&A brand. To this end, we will increasingly bring our own ‘signature’ back in the future, ”the retailer explained to FashionUnited.
