In Pictures: flooded cycle paths and a soaked Drenthe landscape

Heavy rainfall makes Drenthe a sodden province. It is a challenge to keep your feet dry in meadows, parks and on cycle paths. An overview based on photos of water in places where it normally does not come in such large numbers.

The rain came pouring down from the Drenthe sky again yesterday. For people who are now completely fed up with the wet weather, there may be good news on the horizon: it will be drier from the weekend and the temperature will drop.

Until then, Drenthe still has to work to get rid of the excess water. For example, a cycle path in Steenbergen is flooded. An abandoned bicycle along the new lake caused some confusion this morning. The suspicion that someone had gone under turned out to be unfounded. No one was found.
