Heat and drought have plagued northern Italy for months. As a result, major rivers, such as the Po, are groaning under historically low water levels. That in turn threatens the harvest of many Italian farmers. And so the authorities have decided to allow water from lakes to flow into the river at regular intervals. The water levels of the lakes bear the consequences of this. In Lake Garda, the water is already more than a meter lower than normal. Large expanses of bare rocks have become visible. Who is the victim of this? Renters of sun loungers. Because who rents an expensive sun lounger when there is enough space on the rocks a little further on to roll out a towel for free?
