The structure is part of a large-scale development around Eindhoven Central station. The Dutch Mountains will be built on the north side of the station and will consist of hundreds of homes, a hotel, offices and a conference center, the municipality of Eindhoven announced.

The structure consists of two towers of 133 and 96 meters, connected by an atrium, which will include catering facilities.

The building, surrounded by greenery, will largely consist of solid wood from sustainably managed forests, according to the municipality. The building is part of a new district in which Eindhoven wants to build more than 9,000 homes, as well as offices and social facilities, over the next 20 to 25 years.

According to the municipality, a milestone has been reached in the development of the station area with the signing of the contract for The Dutch Mountains. Development of the final design for the wooden building can now begin.
