LOOK. This is the ‘lake effect’, which causes the unique ice sculptures on buildings

In the Canadian municipality of Port Stanley, in the central province of Ontario, the strong winds of recent days have blown a lot of water from Lake Erie. That water has subsequently frozen on bridges and lighthouses, so that they are now covered by a thick layer of ice. Many photographers now visit the place to capture the special ice sculptures.

In several places in the American state of New York, houses have suddenly been given a facade of ice. It is indeed about beauty in the midst of misery. For example, tens of millions of Americans saw their Christmas weekend ruined by massive power cuts, impassable roads and thousands of canceled flights. In addition, almost 60 people have already died from the storm.
