From this week, the Beaugrenelle galleries of the fifteenth arrondissement of Paris officially accept payment in cryptocurrency. This large Parisian shopping center is a pioneer in the field. To redeem their crypto-assets, customers will need to use the LYZI app.
Beaugrenelle: the first French shopping center to accept crypto-assets
That’s it, retail is accelerating the use of cryptocurrencies. From June 8, the Beaugrenelle galleries are launching a challenge to involve its customers. All the stores and restaurants in the Parisian shopping center offer a QR Code hunt. There are 500 euros to be won. The 120 shops of the Beaugrenelle galleries hope that this initiative will make it possible to revitalize the center, established in the fifteenth arrondissement since 2013, whose attendance is far too low for the taste of some.

To redeem their crypto-assets, customers will need to download a French app named LYZI, which runs on the Tezos blockchain. The platform accepts about twenty cryptocurrencies, including the most common: Bitcoin, Ether, Ripple, Litecoin. Once in the shopping center, customers can transform them into a gift card to consume in the Beaugrenelle galleries. This is the first project of its kind in France.
A new shopping experience for Parisian customers
Stéphane Briosne, director of Beaugrenelle Paris, is very proud to be one of the pioneer shopping centers in cryptocurrencies. He explains that at Beaugrenelle, “Our ambition has always been to offer new experiences to our customers and to democratize new uses. The acceptance of crypto-currencies for the purchase of our gift card is still proof of this today and we are happy to be the first to be able to offer it”.
Parisians are invited to participate in this famous QR Code hunt from June 8 to July 8. Here are the rules of the game: after downloading the LYZI app, they will have to find and scan the 3 QR codes hidden on the 3 levels of the Magnetic building and get down to solving the puzzles offered to win crypto-assets. The people who collected the 3 codes will be automatically selected for a big draw at the end of the operation, on July 8th. The big winner win 500 euros in crypto-assets.
