“No, such a calculation system does not exist, it simply cannot exist. This, rather, refers to the theory of probability. But the fact that this figure is larger and possibly significantly larger is obvious,” Peskov told reporters.
In the case of the spread of the Omicron strain, the Russian authorities focus primarily on the number of occupied beds and the remaining reserve, and only secondarily on the number of sick and recovered patients per day, the Kremlin spokesman explained.
He noted that many patients with covid are now everywhere, including in the presidential administration. “The explosive contagiousness of omicron” is “demonstrating itself to its full height,” Peskov admitted.
The press secretary of the head of state also stated, referring to world experience, that it makes no sense to impose excessive restrictions due to the spread of the “omicron” strain. However, he did not rule out that the number of cases of infection in the country could still grow.
