Berlin is studying the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the procedure for paying for Russian gas in rubles, but they consider it relevant to pay in euros and dollars in accordance with the agreements. This was stated by the representative of the Ministry of Economy of Germany, Brother Baron.

“This decree is being studied, we are exchanging information with partners in the EU. Our position is clear: private contracts remain relevant, payment in euros and dollars is relevant, ”said Baron (quoted from TASS).

At the end of March, Germany introduced the first level of the emergency warning regime due to possible interruptions in gas supplies from Russia. It provides for the maximum reduction of gas consumption and constant monitoring of the situation on the gas market.

Germany warned about the consequences of the ban on gas imports from Russia

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz noted that Berlin will continue to pay for the Russian gas it receives in euros. As Klaus Ernst, head of the Bundestag committee on climate and energy, explained, Germany could pay for fuel in rubles, but for this it would have to violate sanctions. The president of the Federal Association of German Industry (BDI), Siegfried Russwurm, has warned that the rejection of Russian gas will lead to the collapse of German industry.
