In addition to VI, SBS 6 mainly scores with Family Gillis: ‘Sign of the viewer’

It became clear during their candle break that SBS 6 isn’t much without the men from VI these days. The station no longer has many real hits. One of the few exceptions is Familie Gillis: Massa is Kassa, which was again a success yesterday. 819 thousand people (16% market share) watched it, almost as many as VI.

‘Gillis success is the proof’

Tina Nijkamp, ​​former broadcaster boss of SBS 6, thinks this is proof that the channel is heading in the wrong direction. “After Today Inside, the best-grossing SBS 6 program is Family Gillis: Mass is Kassa,” she writes on Instagram.

She continues: “Yet again proof that the SBS 6 viewer loves ‘close up TV’ and ‘real people TV’ and does not want another game show, panel show or quiz.”

Heart viewer running away?

With Hart van Nederland they are already on the wrong track at SBS 6, according to Tina. “That is increasingly becoming RTL Nieuws, including the hip, metropolitan leader and political interpretation.”

All those viewers are moving to RTL 5’s 112 Today, she notices. “112 Today brings news that is close to the people. That program is on a quiet rise in viewership. Good figures on RTL 5 compared to Today Inside.”

112 Today reached 430 thousand viewers (9%), a very decent score for RTL 5.

Buy Without Looking at #1

RTL 4 took gold on prime time yesterday, on Monday evening. Buy Without Watching scored 1.4 million viewers (27%). The most viewed alternative was NPO 1’s Kassa with 1.1 million viewers (21%). The next program, Beter, again disappointed with 567 thousand viewers (11%).

The bronze is for SBS 6 thanks to Family Gillis and it was viewed by 831 thousand people (18%) Today Inside. Furthermore, NPO 2’s Nieuwsuur (507 thousand and 10%) and 112 Today were the most popular.
