A doping scandal has been revealed in the controversial Power Slap League.
According to Sportskeeda, the boss of free fight organization UFC by Dana White in the series launched, six people were caught doping. Steroids were found in some doping samples, medicinal substances in others.
All those who crashed were temporarily banned from competition. The Nevada State Athletic Commission will deal with the doping cases later.
– Is there a bowl full of performance-enhancing substances somewhere that I don’t know about? I haven’t seen anything like this in a long time. I didn’t know you needed steroids to hit, sports commission chairman Anthony Marnell comment.
They were worried about doping TJ Thomas, Jay Rivera, Chris Thomas, Andrew Provost, Isaiah Quinones and Frank Holland. Thomas’ doping sample was found to contain a drug that is usually used to treat infertility in women.
Among other things, Rivera’s sample contained metabolic modulators. They cause similar beneficial metabolic changes as physical exertion.
“Does not make any sense”
Among other things, such knockouts are seen in the PSL. The video is not suitable for the sensitive. If you don’t see it, you can look it up from this link.
With the carts, the purity of the entire Power Slap League is shown in a questionable light.
Founded by Dana White, the Power Slap League is slap fighting official series that started last year. The PSL created a stir right after its inception.
In the sport, a defenseless opponent is hit in the face with an open palm and with full force. The contestants are not allowed to defend themselves, which is why the matches have seen violent knockouts.
Professor of Neurology Perttu Lindsberg was completely upset after Iltalehti showed him a video of the knockouts in the slapping contest in January.
– A lot of work! Even if you hit with an open palm, I don’t see any point in this. This is really shocking! Lindsberg reacted.
Lindsberg considered the sport very dangerous. Competitors have a high risk of getting a brain injury, which is also evidenced by reckless falls after blows.
When a person is slapped full on the side of the head, there is also a high risk of ruptured arteries.
– Four arteries go to the brain, and this type of rotating rotation injury is very dangerous to cause an artery rupture. The wall of the artery can tear and that can cause a stroke, Lindsberg said.
Also a specialist in orthopedics and traumatology and a doctor of medicine Christer Lybäck was concerned about knockout videos. He considered the consequences of the action to be, among other things, fractures of the jaw or cheekbone, a rupture of the eardrum and hitting the head after being knocked out.
