Impulso, the program that seeks to bring young people closer to trail running

Impulse is a project that was born from the International Trail Running Association (I-TRA) – the entity in charge of scoring competitions from around the world according to their difficulty – together with the Argentine Athletics Confederation (CADA)which also has the support of the World Mountain Running Association. And its purpose is to provide all the necessary tools to bring young people closer to trail running, leading them to participate in the competitions that join the program.

To carry out Impulso, the support of the race organizers is essential, as is the case of High Peaks Runthe mountain race that takes place in the March 25 in Córdoba and that will host the Argentine championship in the Classic category (10K). But this is not the only organization that joined, so did the organizers of UTACCH, another of the venues chosen by CADA for the national championship from which those chosen to integrate the Argentine mountain team will emerge.

What is the Impulse program?

The Impulso program was born in the search to bring young people closer to trail running, which is above all a communion with our environment. But also with the idea of ​​generating a territorial presence in the development of this sport throughout the country. And to achieve this, private organizers belonging to the circuit endorsed by ITRA or not, coaches, collaborators, physical companies and societies, national entities and social organizations from all over the country that want to make a contribution from their resources to the awareness, dissemination, development and growth of the trail in all its modalities.

In this first stage, the program’s central axis is the development, dissemination, support and participation of Youth (under 20) in classic distance races (“Classic” – 6 to 8 kilometers and a positive slope of 180 to 400 meters) and KV (“vertical kilometer” – between 3.5 and 6 km. with a positive slope of between 750 and 1000 mts.).

The next stage will be on March 25 in the town of Clavero Mine, in the province of Córdoba, where the Altas Cumbres Experience takes place every year, an event that contains swimming competition, trail running and a classic of the mountain bike calendar: Vuelta Altas Cumbres. How can you be part and what does it include?

To be part of Impulso you can be training alone or with a group, have run before in the mountains or on the street and want to take your first steps on the trail.
