Impressive Kenneth Vandendriessche wins Iron Man from Lanzarote

Vandendriessche had made the Iron Man in Lanzarote his main goal this year. The bronze medal from the last World Duathlon Championships wanted to do better than his eighth place last year, with no less than a top three place.

Vandendriessche had a great day and won in an impressive way. After 57 minutes of swimming, just under 5 hours of cycling and a marathon in 2h40, the thirty-something from Ruddervoorde was able to cross the line cheering.

For Vandendriessche it is the first Ironman victory of his career. After Frederik Van Lierde in 2019 and Bart Aernouts in 2017, it is already the third Belgian victory in five years on Lanzarote.
