KRP published a warning about scam calls on social media.

RKP warns of scam calls from numbers starting with 0295. Illustration picture. Mia Siren

The Central Criminal Police (KRP) is warning about a new cheating method on the messaging service X (formerly Twitter) that is bothering Finns.

According to KRP, there are scam calls in which the caller pretends to be an employee of the Central Criminal Police and tries to get hold of the victim’s bank and payment card information.

According to KRP, the caller’s call is fake and it seems to come from a number beginning with 0295 of the Central Criminal Police.

KRP reminds that the police never ask for bank and payment card information over the phone.

– Do not give anyone your online banking credentials or personal information. If you suspect that you have been a victim of fraud, report the matter immediately to your own bank and file a criminal report with the police, KRP writes.
