Important photographic exhibitions, FAI days and other events not to be missed

TO Palazzo Reale in Milan opened the solo exhibition of Jimmy Nelson, an exciting focus on indigenous cultures at risk of extinction.

The war in Ukraine and the stories of resistance: a photographic exhibition that touches the heart

The British photographer has spent his life traveling to the most remote places on the planet, documenting indigenous cultures at risk of extinction: from Tibet to Papua New Guinea, from Bhutan to Siberia, from Namibia to Polynesia.

Through his photos he managed to establish a deep bond with the men and women portrayed.

Humanity traces back to 65 large shots of surprising realism – made with a particular optical bench that Nelson always carries with him – his human and professional adventure as a defender of that universal heritage that is people and their traditions.

Long live the useless

At Art Veronaa fair dedicated to contemporary art, debuts SUPERFLUOUSthe transmedia installation commissioned by Easter Wines to NONE collective, which investigates the theme of the usefulness of the useless and which will be open to the public with free entry until Sunday. The artistic journey invites us to reevaluate reality regardless of the criteria of pure utility that dictate the common measure of value. Wine, like emotions, although it does not respond to primary needs, is an essential part of the beauty and goodness of life.

SUPERFLUO, the transmedia installation commissioned by Pasqua Vini to NONE collective

The usefulness of the useless arises from awareness that man feeds on emotionswhich are what most characterize his humanity. The superfluous is everything that gives meaning to the moment, to the here and now, what makes existence pleasant. Like wine, art flows into our unconscious and touches a deeper level than reason, feeling. Logic is not enough, there are no objective parameters to measure emotion. Utility, meaning and purpose are not sufficient to explain man. Emotions, knowledge, art, luxury are a necessity that begins when necessity ends. And then we are appreciating the ephemeral, the useless, the superfluous.

SUPERFLUO, the transmedia installation commissioned by Pasqua Vini to NONE collective

The exhibition unfolds along a path that crosses two rooms of Palazzo del Capitanio. A first environment welcomes the visitor and introduces the theme of the exhibition through the display of works and videos generative of iridescent super-fluids. By accessing the next room, the visitor will find himself inside a site-specific artistic installation. The immersive work will be composed of a multi-projection that will populate the ceiling vaults with bioluminescent organisms while the central space of the room will be occupied by a hemisphere with which a laser light will interact which will also evoke that of wine among the superfluous worlds. The installation will force you to abandon traditional visual and auditory points of reference to immerse yourself in an imaginative and superfluous world and experience the oxymoron of the usefulness of the useless.

INFO: Verona, Palazzo del Capitanio, until 15 October.
