Ime Udoka has been appointed as the head coach of the Houston Rockets, where national player Alperen Şengün played in the American Basketball League (NBA).
According to the NBA’s statement, the Rockets, which parted ways with Stepen Silas, agreed with Udoka for the position of head coach.
The US-born Nigerian coach, who has coached the San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers, and Brooklyn Nets, took over as head of the Boston Celtics in 2021. Udoka led the Celtics to the NBA finals last season.
With 22 wins and 60 losses during the regular season, the Rockets finished 14th in the Western Conference.
