Images have surfaced of the attack on two houses in the Meidoornstraat in Breda last weekend. The images show how a cyclist drives past the house, lights something and throws it towards the house. Shortly afterwards, a huge explosion follows. No one was injured in the process. The identity of the cyclist is still under investigation.
On Friday night around a quarter past four, the residents of two houses on the Meidoornstraat in Breda were startled by a huge explosion. Several windows were broken. The shards of glass and the roof tiles of a roof flew through the air. Two cars and a scooter were damaged as a result.
Residents were present in both houses. They were shaken by the blow. No one was injured, but children were sleeping in the room at the front of one of the houses. After the explosion, one of the houses was full of smoke and there was considerable havoc inside.
The municipality of Breda immediately took measures. A mobile camera has been placed in the immediate vicinity of both houses. There is also extra surveillance by boas and agents. This is how the municipality wants to prevent something from happening again.
It is still unclear how long the camera will be used. The municipality, the police and the Public Prosecution Service will discuss this further.
