Image like in a picture book

The public order office in Mitte has launched its own Pixi book for children to explain its work. A comment from BZ editor Katja Colmeneras.

The idea is as simple as it is ingenious. With the help of a Pixi book, the public order office in Mitte wants to polish up its reputation and that of all other public order offices.

If this coup goes well, all of today’s two to five-year-olds will later want to be law enforcement officials. But it takes more than a picture book to convince teenagers and young adults of the coolness of this profession.

The Berlin BVG has demonstrated how image change works. It also worked for the BSR. Funny, intelligent messages in social networks and in the cityscape. Even if it doesn’t turn every grumpy bus driver into a pink unicorn, his reputation has improved.

Respect. This is also due to the employees of the public order office – even if they have even more cars towed away this year.
