“I’m not an egoist” – Robert Lewandowski defends himself

In the tensions between Robert Lewandowski and FC Bayern, the timing is increasing. Now the striker has spoken again – with emotional words.

Between FC Bayern and striker Robert Lewandowski, there is still a risk of a mud fight with an open outcome. The goalscorer who is willing to emigrate has spoken out again – and defended himself against allegations with emotional words.

“I don’t want to force anything”

He was “not an egoist,” said Lewandowski on Tuesday of “Bild”, but: “Changes are part of the life of the club and the player.” For the Pole, the matter has long been clear. Although his contract in Munich is still running, he “also tried to make it clear to the club how I feel.” He also knows “that there are many emotions today, but I hope that the fans will understand me at some point.”

Leaving this summer is the best solution, “especially since the club can still get a fee for me.” Lewandowski himself would have the chance “to face a new challenge at another club for a few more years. That’s mine Wish.” The 33-year-old also emphasized: “I don’t want to force anything, that’s not the point. It’s about finding the best solution.”

Lewandowski emphasized the importance of his time at Bayern for him: “I appreciate it very much, this club and this city have become a home for me.” He “met a lot of wonderful people on and off the pitch.” But separations are part of football. “If I feel like I need a change mentally, it’s fair to say so.”
