‘I’m done with Gordon’

Evert Sanwaarden is completely done with Gordon, who claims that he never wants to give interviews to the Dutch press again. “That is mutual,” said the editor-in-chief of Privé.

Gordon had to close the Blaricum branch of his coffee shop Blushing on Sunday due to a lack of staff, but he does not want to talk to the media about this. In fact, according to RTL Boulevard, he was very angry with a camera crew of the program present. He never wants to speak to the media again, reports the show column.

‘Quite tragic’

That’s a good thing, says Private boss Evert Sankrediets. He is also completely done with Gordon. “It’s mutual that we don’t want to do interviews anymore, because I’m really done with it,” he says in the podcast Strictly Private.

It seems that Gordon only wants good publicity, according to Evert: “Now again… If you open such a coffee shop with a lot of fuss and you invite the press, then you shouldn’t be surprised that they also visit the when the tent closes. He is very bad at that. That is quite tragic.”

‘Amsterdam closed too!’

Evert thinks that the Amsterdam branch of Blushing will also close. “I have to hand it to Gordon that he is an enterprising boy. He tries everything, with varying degrees of success, though. Rotterdam closed, Blaricum closed and I honestly hold my heart for Amsterdam.”

Why? “I was recently sitting on the terrace and then I also waited ten minutes for coffee, which I did get across the street. So yeah, it’s just a big disappointment for him, but he’s handling it really badly. And then he scolds people. Really not normal. Then I think: you used to be so nice, what happened?”

To call to order

Colleague Jordi Versteegden: “Who is going to call him to order, I wonder?”

Evert: “Calling Gordon to order: nobody really succeeded, but if he would just make a list of the people with whom he has a quarrel… With everyone he has worked with, with the press, with family, with everything and everybody. Then I think: yes, boy, just look for yourself for once.”

mad at everyone

Gordon’s desperate attempts to lose weight also become laughable, says Evert. “Every time he wants to get thinner and thinner… The only thing that gets thinner with Gordon was his book because all kinds of pages had to come out and nothing else.”

As far as Evert is concerned, we close the Gordon chapter. “Now he’s mad again, but he’s mad at everything and everyone.”
