Lynx report having terminated the contract of star defender Les Lancaster.
Iltalehti already reported last Thursday that the 28-year-old American is in the starting pits.
Lancaster moves abroad. The new team is not yet known.
Jenkkipakki has not played in Ilves’ previous five matches. His role has shrunk significantly when top reinforcements were acquired for the team in the middle of the season Adam Clendening and Sami Niku.
Last season, Lancaster scored a whopping 47 points for Ilves, but this season only nine points have been created in 33 matches.
Ilves commented on his player’s situation in a press release.
– In cooperation with Les and his representatives, we have been looking for a solution to the situation that would serve both the player and the club. Now that one has been found, we thank Les for his years at Ilves and wish him all the best for the future, sports director Timo Koskela utters.
