Illegal residents of Ermerstrand get six months to move

Residents who live illegally permanently at the Ermerstrand holiday park are given six months by the municipality of Coevorden to leave. It concerns about eighty cases.

Yesterday the municipality started talks with the owners and residents about moving to another accommodation.

“Care and attention for the personal situation is important here. That is also the reason that they are given six months instead of the statutory six weeks to find other accommodation. Social Welfare Coevorden can help with this. The municipality also talks to entrepreneurs and employment agencies that rent out chalets to healthcare clients or migrant workers,” the municipality said in a statement.

A month ago, the municipality of Coevorden conducted a large-scale investigation into illegal occupation in the holiday parks near Ermerstrand. The municipality was supported in this by the police. Everyone who entered or left the park or stayed at the park received a number of questions about the use of the chalets, cottages and mobile homes. The action started early in the morning and lasted until the afternoon.

With the action of Ermerstrand, the municipality wants to make a recreation park again. The nearby park Ermerzand is intended for permanent residence.
