Illegal prostitution in Velsen-Zuid house, building closed by mayor

Illegal prostitution was offered in a house on the Buitenhuizerweg in Velzen-Zuid. After an inspection, the mayor decided to close the building immediately for two weeks. There are no residents registered at the address.

The reason for the audit was, among other things, signals from sex advertisements. During the inspection on February 1, it turned out that the building had been squatted and used for illegal prostitution.

“The presence of an illegal sex establishment is often accompanied by other forms of crime, such as drug nuisance and human trafficking,” says the mayor of Velsen. “It also increases the feeling of insecurity in the area and causes social unrest. It is an illegal and very undesirable and unsafe situation.”

After the two-week closure, the mayor will decide whether the closure will be extended.
