A Berliner received 159 tickets for illegal parking within a year. Now, according to a court ruling, the cardboard is gone. A comment from BZ editor Oliver Ohmann.
In the verdict, he was certified as having “characteristic deficiencies” and being unsuitable as a road user. I’m not sure I can follow that.
Sure, it’s unusual to get a ticket every two days. No question. But in Berlin, finding a parking space is becoming increasingly difficult – and more expensive.
Everyone has once risked a ticket instead of shelling out five euros for a parking ticket or parking garage. More and more parking spaces are disappearing. An army of frustrated people circles the city every day in search of the gap.
In Berlin, the motto is well known: cars are evil, they have to be scared away. Then where to go with the car? Anyway, we citizens have to deal with that ourselves.
