The music industry’s all-rounder Ilkka “Ile” Vainio arrived on Wednesday evening at Helsinki’s Maxim cinema to watch Jorma “Jope” Ruonansuu’s life story Come on document. Vainio himself knew Ruonansuu personally, as they worked on up to 20 studio albums together.
– I found Jope back in the 90s in Kuopio at the Huumori SM competitions. Jope won it and I said let’s get down to business. That was the beginning of an eternal friendship, gold and platinum records.
In addition to success, the duo’s journey was also full of many challenges, some of which even took them to court. Despite threats, it never happened.
– Regarding one of the songs, Paavo Väyrynen’s secretary announced that we will now go to court. I told you to look forward to it!
In the end, the disagreement was settled, and the other songs did not have to go to court. According to Vainio, people were usually the closest to being taken by Ruonansuu to imitate them.

Outside of their careers, Vainio and Ruonansuu also have time for many things. Once, Vainio went to see Ruonansuu, who was being treated in the hospital, who was not allowed to eat anything fatty because of the treatments. Despite the ban, Ruonansuu asked Vainiot to bring something to eat.
– The nurse opened the door of the room and said, oh my God, what is going on here! The chips were on gauze and Jope was eating a chicken leg. He then blurted out that we have a production meeting going on.
In the coming spring, Vainio himself will have a concert tour, during which he will perform in the biggest concert halls in Finland. The tour, which includes a total of 17 gigs, bears its name Ilkka Vainio’s life celebration concert.
– And I just returned from a Caribbean cruise, where I performed for a Finnish audience.
