IL-TV at the Jussi Gala

The film industry awards ceremony will be celebrated today, Friday.

The Jussi Awards will be presented to the best Finnish films and filmmakers of 2021 at Friday’s gala.

An annually changing panel of professionals, together with the Filmiaura Board, has nominated nominees for sixteen categories. The final winners will be chosen by Filmiaura ry’s membership by closed ballot.

The audience has also, as usual, chosen their own favorite film, which will be awarded a certificate of honor on live television.

The gala will also award the Nordisk Film Prize, worth EUR 20,000, which is one of the largest recognition awards in the field of arts and culture in Finland in terms of monetary value, and the largest prize in the film industry.

The distribution of Jussi awards will be presented live on the MTV3 channel and the mtv service.

You can tune in to the atmosphere of the red carpet, the rumble of party costumes and the flash of flashes even before the gala via IL-TV, when Iltalehti’s entertainment editor Miia Vatka talks to the guests arriving at the gala on site at Kaapelitehdas.

IL-TV’s live starts at about 4.15pm. You can access it from the link at the top of the page.

For the last time, the “male” Jussi Awards will be presented. Next year, they will be replaced with gender-neutral prizes. Then male and female actors will no longer be rewarded separately. Henri Kärkkäinen
