It was reported this week that McDonald’s has revamped its classic burgers.

McDonald’s classic burger reform, which has been underway for several years, has landed in Finland in May.

Among other things, these things have changed: the bun recipe, the onion is added to the steak when frying a Big Mac burger, a cheeseburger and a double cheese burger, and the Big Mac sauce is added to the burger at 30 mils instead of the previous 20 mils.

We asked the readers of Iltalehti for their opinion on the reform. It was not unclear. Most of the knockout reform.

– My favorite burger for decades was not the same as before, but ruined! I will not choose this again.

– The new taste was weird and somehow pineapple-like. Everything does not need to be renewed.

– Poor reform. The original was much better. I don’t like fried onions and the bun could have been left unrenovated.

– The new roll has some bad aftertaste. I’ve been eating Big Mac burgers for many years, but now I have to stop because of that change.

It feels like the mayonnaise has been swapped for mustard. Really pungent taste. I don’t know if it’s because of that onion or where. Will not buy in the future.

– New worse. The structure loosened as the amount of sauce increased. Classic ruined.

How is the CEO of McDonald’s Finland Olli Johansson answer?

– It is sometimes good to renew classics. We knew how to prepare for criticism, but it has been less than we thought.

Johansson does not believe sales of the by far best-selling burger, the Big Mac, would collapse. Should this happen, the reform should be reconsidered.

– The main feedback has been that this tastes wrong. We knew some people would react just that. We understand that the change has been a small shock to heavyweights, continues the communications director Heli Ryhänen.

According to Olli Johansson, CEO of McDonald’s Finland, the new Big Mac is tastier than the old one. Eeva Paljakka

The change is intended to make burgers succulent and taste better.

According to Ryhänen, brand indicators have developed well in the countries where the reform has taken place. Finland is among the first countries.

Iltalehti’s survey also received messages praising the reform:

– Taste the same as always, but more sauce, it’s good. Both the buns are more brioche-like and that too was a mere plus.

– The bun and steaks are tastier now and the addition of the sauce is a good thing, the hamburger was previously unnecessarily dry and overvalued. Now I could even buy one again.

– I didn’t notice any difference other than that the pickles are now on a different floor. Also still misses ketchup.
