IL London in torrential rain: Will the weather spoil Charles’ coronation?

Showers are promised for the entire coronation weekend.

King Charles III,’s coronation will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday, and last-minute preparations are in full swing in London.

The city is also starting to fill up with media people and royal fans.

However, the globally watched event is overshadowed by Britain’s capricious spring weather.

Iltalehti’s editor and cameraman got caught in a heavy downpour right after landing in London on Friday. This is what it looked like in the city:

Showers or more continuous drizzle in some places have been predicted for the whole weekend in London.

Prince William in particular is said to have been concerned about the weather on his father’s coronation day. He pronounced on Thursday with Princess Catherine Dog & Duck pub that he keeps his fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain on the coronation day.

The carriage ride of the royal couple to the Coronation Church and from there to Buckingham Palace is possible despite the heavy rain, because the horse-drawn carriages have a roof. But what about the planned flyover of Buckingham Palace if the weather is bad?
