A (chic) fairy tale with animal friends

«This is the story of a truly special tailor’s shop, where the little animals create. A group of unique friends in the world, for an all-round nursery rhyme! Thus begins the funny nursery rhyme that tells the story of a group of friends struggling with tailoring work. Jack the fox, Shawn the fawn, Joceline the otter, Bam the marmot or Marcus the bear. Who is your favourite?

The tender animals of the forest, protagonists of the refined embroidery and refined inlay work, are transformed into delicate and evocative animations, thanks to the talent of graphic designer Padua Maria Marega. Who in this exclusive interview tells us how this new and exciting creative synergy with the clothing brand was born:

How did the collaboration with Il Gufo begin?

I have known Il Gufo for a long time as it is an excellence of the area I come from. Their reality has always struck me for their creative sensitivity and for their poetics attentive to childhood, which is very close to my feelings. I was lucky enough to come into contact with the company thanks to Brillo Magazine which created a great collaboration opportunity seeing the harmony between my style and their vision.

Where did the nursery rhyme that accompanies the images originate?

The nursery rhyme was born from the desire to “give voice” to the illustrated animals, almost personifying them. A story that tells of the teamwork of the characters who, united by their passion for their tailoring work, give life to the final garment. The common thread of everything is therefore creativity, which pushes each character to do their part for the success of the result.

What is the meaning of the color shades of the illustrations?

Colors are very important in my illustrations because they touch emotions and make us enter the stories. For this work I chose a palette with delicate tones that recalled pastel colors and nature, I wanted each character to be a small space for storytelling and serenity within social media.

What does “Savoir Faire” mean to you?

Savoir faire for me is taking advantage of experience to create the new. It’s taking the right time to create something that represents us and doing a job well precisely because we have many hours of rehearsals and study behind us that have become part of us. Savoir-faire is the steady hand of the seamstress who sews a detail and the attentive eye of the brush on the paper.
