The captain of the Athletic Club, Iker Muniain, has tested positive for covid in the last antigen test to which the Bilbao squad has been subjected and, therefore, will be absent for the game that will face the rojiblanco team with Rayo this Sunday at the Vallecas field (6:30 p.m.).
As confirmed by the Bilbao club, Muniain is “in good health and complying with the sanitary isolation protocol at home” and should have no problem reaching the Copa del Rey quarter-final match against Real Madrid.
In addition to Muniain, the coach of Athletic, Marcelino García Toral, suffers for this match against Rayo the certain casualties of the injured Unai Vencedor and Oihan Sacet, and the doubts, also due to physical problems, of Yeray Álvarez and Asier Villalibre.
