Do you always browse all departments when you join IKEA Delft are? From April 11 you will have to follow a different walking route for a few weeks. Two departments of the store will then be renovated. Omar works in one of these departments and tells more about what you can expect from it in the future.
The departments that are being renovated are the carpet department and home decoration. Home decoration includes the spaces where you can find frames, mirrors, candles, plants and flower pots.

“One of the reasons for the renovation is that we want to give our customers even more inspiration for their own home than we already do,” says Omar. “A lot of new products are being added and the departments are being expanded, which means we can show more products.” In addition, a number of walls will shift. “I don’t think our visitors will notice much of this. Except that the walking routes are even easier to follow.”
New products
“The department where you find the candles is getting a new product line: fragrance. And in the carpets departments we are going to make a large presentation wall so that you can see and feel almost all carpets from our range,” says Omar. “We want to show our visitors that you can make big differences in your interior with small items. In addition to being able to view more products later, we have also installed computers throughout the store. Here visitors can search for articles and order them themselves. This makes shopping at IKEA Delft even more efficient for visitors.”

According to Omar, you don’t have to worry that you will no longer be able to buy all the products from the departments that are being renovated during the renovation. “The products that you can normally buy in the departments will simply remain for sale on other racks in the store. On the signs in the store you can see where you have to go for which products. Can’t find something? Then you can always ask one of the employees for help.”
Grand opening
Omar says: “We expect to be ready at the end of May and then there will be a festive opening with tasty Swedish snacks.” on IKEA Delft’s Instagram page can you do something during the renovation sneak peaks see the new departments.
