IKEA closed hours earlier: ‘Fewer and fewer customers in the evening’

On weekdays, this means that the Swedish furniture giant – with a branch in Heerlen – closes at 20:00, now it is still 21:00. On Saturday evening, IKEA even closes two hours earlier, at 7:00 PM instead of 9:00 PM as it is now. More chain stores will take that step and shorten their opening hours, thinks marketing expert Paul Moers. “Because this is what labor shortages do to the economy. Everyone is screaming for staff, it’s a fight for the employee.”
