For a long time, Iivo Niskanen’s exact protection lasted, but eventually the coronavirus crept into his body.
When Niskanen was speaking at Tampere-talo at his partner’s event in early autumn, he only entered the hall at the time of his own speech and wanted a safety distance from the others present.
Last season, Niskanen said that he tried to avoid, for example, shopping trips until the very end. Before the Olympics, he wore a mask during outdoor interviews.

According to experts, there is still not enough data on the effect of corona in a sport that requires maximum oxygen uptake to be valid for publication. The general view is that the disease caused by the virus and the recovery from it are very individual. A strong general condition and three vaccines basically alleviate the symptoms.
It is certain that Niskanen’s competition plan was completely redesigned. In addition to Ruka, the World Cups in Lillehammer and Beitostölen will be missed.
In Davos before Christmas, 20 kilometers would be offered as a free intermediate start. It might be the opening start of Niskanen’s season in the World Cup.
This season, the Skiing World Cup does not have the collective testing required by the umbrella organization, so the athlete competes when it is deemed safe.
