Finland’s biggest skiing star Iivo Niskanen set a course record in cross-country skiing in the traditional summer race for skiers in Vuokatti.
Vuokatin’s Aateli Race reported on the route record on her Instagram account.
Niskanen clocked a time of 15:42.3 for the 4.5 kilometer long run. Ranked second Remi Lindholm was not far behind, as he was only 2.1 seconds slower than Niska.
The women’s three-kilometer running race was won by someone familiar from the athletic fields Oona Kettunen at 12.08.1. Krista Pärmäkoski lost to him by 2.7 seconds.
Vuokatti’s Aateli Race is a three-part race, consisting of two roller skiing sections and cross-country running.
The competition culminates on Wednesday afternoon, when both men and women ski a 12.5 kilometer pursuit race.
