First it was on, then it was off, then it was on again: flashing light love is hot among the celebrities. The latest update on their relationship status was that Igone de Jongh and Thijs Römer walked hand in hand at the Coldplay concert, but that was just before he was convicted of abusing underage girls online.
Igone is silent
On top of that abuse comes the confirmed news that Thijs has cheated on the ballerina with the girlfriend of a good friend. “It is yet another blow to Igone,” says Dyantha Brooks in the studio of Show news. “Incredible. But do we have any idea if she might have known about this?”
Story boss Guido den Aantractor does not know. “Look, we sometimes joke about it among journalists. Whether it was Katja Schuurman or Igone, who recently went to an amusement park with Katja with their children… It is actually a kind of very open relationship that they had with each other, but Igone was not available for comment on this case.”
Thijs too
The same applies to Thijs Römer, says Guido. “He doesn’t want to say anything about it at all, so basically the male cheated party in this story – the mistress’s husband – is the only one who just said it was. (…) The misery is really piling up, isn’t it? You start to wonder more and more what else is to come.”
Where is Thijs actually hanging out? Bart Ettekoven: “Do we know if he is in the Netherlands? I assume you have photographers on him.”
Edwin on vacation
No, Guido doesn’t know that. His paparazzo Edwin Smulders is currently on vacation. “Well, my photographer is unfortunately on vacation this week. We have photographed them, it is clear that Thijs visited Noor very recently – a few weeks ago. Now they are on vacation, so I assume that Thijs is not around there in any case.”
Guido thinks that Thijs is just at home. Bart: “I can imagine that he went abroad for a while. I mean, all those looks he’s getting on the street now, huh? Especially after the judge’s ruling, but also now because of this scandal actually.”
