Raily Ignacio personally provided three points for AFC. The attacker scored the only goal of the team from Amsterdam against reigning champion VV Katwijk. Young FC Volendam lost against SV Spakenburg. Kiki Musampa’s team went down 1-3 at home.
AFC – Katwijk
The most beautiful poster of the midweek round in the second division was the one between AFC and reigning champion VV Katwijk. The team from South Holland had to deal with a hefty setback after thirteen minutes. Former FC Volendam defender Paul Kok had to be replaced early after a long injury treatment.
Without the strong holder of the Katwijkers, AFC had the greatest opportunities in the first half. Yordi Teijsse did not try harmlessly from a distance and Raily Ignacio was also close by with a header that went just wide. AFC took the lead in the second half. After an hour of play, Ignacio had escaped the defense and easily passed Katwijk goalkeeper Jean-Paul van Leeuwen. In the remainder of the game, the visitors to the Goed Enough sports park were unable to make a fist and so it remained at 1-0 for AFC.

Young FC Volendam – SV Spakenburg
Jong FC Volendam received SV Spakenburg in their own stadium. The Blues from the fishing village took the lead after seven minutes. Floris van der Linden tapped in a cross at the second right. After more than half an hour of play, the talents from Volendam came alongside. Joey Antonioli rewarded a good phase of his team with the equalizer.
Spakenburg quickly took the lead again in the second half. Again Van der Linden was accurate. The former Telstar player hit hard behind Barry Lauwers: 1-2. In the final phase, Van der Linden even completed his hat-trick. He finished one-on-one with Lauwers coolly and thus ensured the 1-3 final score.
Due to the defeat, Jong FC Volendam drops to 15th place in the second division. After the victory over Katwijk, AFC can be found in sixth place, making it the highest ranked team from North Holland. OFC booked its first victory tonight by winning 2-1 from Kon. HFC.
